I have made so many new friends on etsy.com and also on flickr.com. This has been so much fun to write a blog , its abit hard because you dont know what to write, but I have found that if I read other blogs it gives me some ideas of what to write. Please excuse me punctuation and style of writing, I am not a English major LOL!!! So lets see New Friends. I have met some great ladies from Brazil and wow do they have some great talent you can see them on their flickr photostream I am waiting to recieve their blog address so I can post them here. I plan on doing some swapping with them when I am not so busy. I would love to receive some new items from different countries and why not start with Brazil. I think it great. I love some of those patterns they use and I have seen on Picasa Web. One of my new friends tuned me on to picasa, thank you Veronica , gracias Veronica. I have access to all of the patterns they post there , the only problem is my photoshop trial just expired now I have to buy the program and I cant print anything that requires this program, bummer. I'll be listing my New Friends blogs, flickr.coms, etsy shops, etc as soon as I recieve them so keep those lovely eyes open :~)
Well we've been working on our christmas line. I am creating little elf pillows . They are looking so cute I dont have a picture to post yet they are not finished yet. I am still working on the faces and all their little decorations. You'll be surprised. I got the idea from a tuorial I saw but I changed it some to suit me. First on the tutorial they didnt have ears only arms and legs. I gave them ears and their hats are made from different shapes like one is a christmas tree and the other is a kinda of a santa hat. I am creating one that will have a big star as the hat haven't figured that one out yet, but I am having fun with it. I hope to have pictures this weekend. I am working hard, but I fear that I will not be ready for my crafts show in November. My mom has been working hard also, but she has been in bed with a terrible back pain for the last few days so she hasn't been able to do much of anything really. So keep us in your thoguhts and prayers that we will be ready for our crafts show and that we do well.
We have been working on some new items lately and we have been working very hard. Believe it or not my mom is working on a Mr. "T" doll he is a soft sculpture doll with all the trimings; meaning he has all the jewlery and mohawk that the real Mr. "T" wears. She made one about 25 yrs ago it was to be for my little brother who at the time was about 5 yrs old and he just loved Mr. "T" and the "A" Team; you remember that show. Well anyway somehow I cant recall , but my mom sold that Mr."T" and now she owes my little brother , who isnt so little anymore, he is 30 yrs old now and is 6'5" and he is a Correctional Officer, but he still wants his Mr. "T". Can you believe he asked me to make him a diansour?
Which I did last Christmas and I put a spike dog collar on it and named him "Roffie". There is a story behind that name. My little brother nick name is Fofie and well my one of my newphews when he was young couldn't say it and it came out uncle Roffie. So now we call him uncle Roffie.
But I anyway I was sidetracked with the story of my little brother.
My mom is also getting ready to make a Betty Boop Doll and she is cute . The last time she made this doll was around the same time as Mr. "T". You wont believe it, but Betty Boop is anatomically correct.
My mom had made many dolls back then she would get pictures from customers that wanted her to make a doll that looked like their child and specially if the child had a scar, they wanted that on the doll. My mom made me a doll on my 21st birthday it looks exactly like my baby picture when I was just a few months old. She also put on the doll the scar I have from my heart surgery when I was 3 yrs old. I need to take a picture of that doll and my baby picture and post them here. My mom has a few dolls over seas that she had sold back then in the late 70's. She has sent them as far away as Germany, and that's before the internet LOL!!!! People would just hear it from word of mouth and call and order them and well she would send them out. Well I guess we'll have a few more tid-bits at a later date keep up with us 'K :~)
Well everyone we have finally gotten there its about that time to start thinking about Christmas. Didn't this year just fly by? Well I think it did. My sister started her Ornaments series here are some pictures of them. You can see them on our slideshow on our blog and of course you can also find them at our etsy store. She will be adding crystals to the ornaments, so we will be updating those photos once the crystals have been added. These have been machine embroidered.
We've been featured on this link. Hoenstly this was a great surprise I had forgotten all about this feature I had signed up for. She did a great job in the feature and I was so excieted about it that's why I have to write about it and have to place 2 links on my blog about it . Can you tell I am excieted!!!! We have been featured before on "thereddoor" about our craft space, which was abit embassing due to the pictures of our mess LOL!!!! you can see some pictures here . Here is mom (Irene) making some of her purses and wallets, she was a bit embassed when I took her picture, but I told her I had to; that someone wanted to feature us and see our crafting space and working area. She staring laughing she thought that was funny they wanted to see her mess!!
Hi There , I'd like for all of you to meet "Milo" he was a custom order for my very first customer mrshennejoyner and you can find her at http://www.mrshennejoyner.etsy.com/. Her special order was he have a mohawk and well I did it . It was a first for me I had never added a mohawk to anything before, but doesnt he look great ? I think it turned out the best little octopus ever. I had to down size this pattern due to shipping cost. mrshennejoyner and I had a heck of a time tring to get him to NC for her and the shipping was out rageous , so she suggested that I shrink the pattern, which I did. Believe me "Milo" has ahead circumfernce of 50" and tenticals are approx. 60" long so can you image the size of box he needed, wow that was a job in its self. So now let me introduce you to the newest memeber of the Octopus line the re-sized version. This is "Cleo" she has a head circumference of 30" and her tenticals are 16" so whe is a lot smaller than her big brother. She is up for sale on http://www.kraftykrew.etsy.com/ so come take alook at her and maybe give her a forever home. So now from mrshennejoyner's advice I may re-size alot of my bigger items to smaller items due to shipping costs and make them more affordable to buy.
Hi all , we are now getting ready for our first craft fair in Fresno ,Ca at J&D Embroidery Shop. This is where my sister , Fances, has her classes and where she buys most of her machines and equipment. This is a first for D&J's and a first for us as Kraftykrew. We will be working hard for the next 2 months creating and designing new items for the craft fair. So be patient with us we may have to neglect our etsy shop for awhile but keep your eyes on us. The new designs may end up on our shop. These are a few new items that I , Rita , created for a christmas givaway for MAU Studios from etsy .com. So these are about to make their debute at the craft fair and they will soon to available in our shop. Let me introduce you to Thumbkins Buddies. There is Olen the Tool Man, Lil'Miss, Woofy, and of course Paw-Paw Kitty all Thumbkins Buddies. I'll be creating new little Thumbkins Buddies and we'll see what I come up with. I have so may ideas floating in my head I wish I had more time in the day to do all that I want and not to sleep. I have so many drawings and sketchs in my pad that I want to finally create, but be patient and I'll get there and you may be surprised we'll see :~)
